The King’s Speech

The King’s Speech deserves all the praise it’s recieving. Colin Firth is outstanding as the King, Helena Bonham Carter is hilarious as the Queen Mother and the whole thing looks and feels as smart and classy as those lovely little biographical films that BBC4 keeps treating us to.

Mostly I can’t stop thinking about that sofa.  Look at it. Faded grandeur, elegant vintage. In a film packed with scene stealing performances and grand royal palace sets, this grubby little upholstered stunner stole my heart and gently nestled Colin Firth’s buttocks I really want one just like it.
